Xynergo aims to establish production of 2nd generation synthetic biofuels - Xyn-Fuels. The plant will produce 3 different products with woody biomass as feedstock:
Xyn-Diesel
Xyn-Diesel has very good product properties which provide advantages over both 1st generation biodiesel and fossil diesel. The most important features are:
• Extremely low on sulphur
• Very high cetane values
• Very good cold / winter properties
• Low aromatics content
• No need to modify existing engines and / or distribution systems
These properties will make Xyn-Diesel an attractive product also for blending into other fuels. Xyn-Diesel will also be possible to use in a wide range of transportation sectors and in the offroad segment.
Xyn-Jetfuel
Xyn-Jetfuel will be fully compatible and blendable with fossil jetfuel. Xyn-Jetfuel introduction will not require any modification to or investment in existing infrastructure.
Xyn-Naphta
Xyn-Naphtha has extremely good value for petrochemical use, mainly due to very high paraffinic content (>90%). Xyn-Naphtha represent one of very few green feedstocks for petrochemical industry.
The full scale Xyn-Fuel plant can provide a significant share of the Norwegian demand for petroleum products while offering very efficient reduction in both global (GHG) and local emissions.
